Born and raised on an oil platform in the North Sea, Cold quickly developed an early sensitivity to the quiet menace of poorly aligned geometry.

He later carried this awareness online, into the more abstract territories of graphic design and 3D animation, disciplines which, to him, seemed less like careers than the commencement of a lifelong attempt to impose order on the endless churning sea of ideas.
